The Undertones - ****age Kicks
If it was good enough for John Peel to put "****age dreams, so hard to beat" on his tombstone, it'll do for me.
"Anyway Rock the Casbah would have to be the gayest Clash song ever so I presumed he was yours."
I can't really argue with that Oz, it wasn't their finest, still good though imo.
Best Clash for me would probably be Complete Control or White Man in Hammersmith Palais, close call though, so many classics.
Overall from that era probably SLF At The Edge.

Funnily enough I've just made up a cd for my daughter to play in her car as the radio is a bit iffy (she's just bought her first car and is learning to drive!).
The cd contains ****age Kicks, Here Comes the Summer (two best Undertones songs) and London Calling (the best Clash song).
Holiday in the sun is a tuneful little number that I liked.
P!ss Factory by Patti Smith was another.
Favourite Clash song would be White man in Hammersmith Palais too.
Ever fallen in love by the Buzzcocks would be a favourite too.
anything you can pogo to hey ho,let's go! by the Ramones is great (Blitzkrieg Bop).used to love the Stranglers.
