    Bamford

Derby County are in talks over the possibility of a permanent deal for current Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford according to the Sunday Mirror.

The 20-year old attacking midfielder has spent this half season out on loan to Derby following a successful loan spell at MK Dons in League One.

Since joining the club Bamford has made 22 league appearances whilst scoring eight goals and now Derby want to make him a permanent member of their squad.

The 20-year old has been on Chelseaa??s books since January 2012 when they signed him for A?2 million of off Nottingham Forest but he has failed to make an impact and has been loaned out ever since.

It is yet unknown as to how much Bamford will cost Derby but it is a certainty that Chelsea will be wanting to recoup the money they paid for him plus a little bit more due to how successful he has been during his loan spells in the past few years.

Derby see him as a great prospect for the future and he fits in with the youth and experience hybrid team

If this is true then hopefully he will stop thinking he is too good for us and not be as lazy on the pitch. A real quality player who can produce moments nobody else in our squad can, but for games he can go missing and you wouldn't even know he was there.

When he joined us he called us "a stepping stone" as he obviously thought he was too good, and would be a matter of time before he is in the Premier League playing with Chelsea. If we go up that'll probably be the peak of his abilities right now - low level Prem, but I can't see him ever being good enough to play regularly for a top four side.

Oooh no!! There is far too little in his game for me to want him full time.
I think he's a legend in his own mind.
Scored some good and valuable goals but rarely has anything else to offer.

I'd be annoyed if we paid any more than a million for him.

Agreed. Not worth the amount Chelsea paid for him.

interesting and surprising at the same time.

the thing people forget about bamford is that he's still a kid! if you think how good he could be in 5 years time, a couple of million could be a bargain.

not sure what to think of that though really as personally I've got him down as our 4th choice (out of 2 positions) wing forward at the moment.

hmmm like bear says 2 mill is a stretch (i thought they paid 1 mill anyway, did i miss something?). But as rapid says, that could be considered super cheap in the future. I haven't seen him do enough to warrant 2 mill personally, that money could be better spent.
