Peloponnesian War, (431-434 BC), war fought between the two leading city-states in ancient Greece, Athens and Sparta. Each stood at the head of alliances that, between them, included nearly every Greek city-state. The fighting engulfed virtually the entire Greek world, and it was properly regarded by Thucydides, whose contemporary account of it is considered to be among the world's finest works of history, as the most momentous war up to that time.
Classy post, Wokes, raises the bar somewhat!
No. 432 Squadron Royal Canadian Airforce
Motto: Saeviter ad lucem (Ferociously towards the light)
Adoption: Town of Leaside, Ontario Ancestry: King George VI, March 1945
No. 432 Squadron formed at Skipton-on-Swale on 1 May 1943 as part of No. 6 Group. Originally equipped with Vickers Wellington Mk Xs, it had become operational with these before the month was out, using the type for night bombing until November, when it was re-equipped with Avro Lancaster Mk IIs at East Moor. This gave the squadron greater capabilities, but in February 1944 this type was withdrawn and No. 432 was given Handley Page Halifax Mk IIIs. With these and Halifax Mk VIIs, which were very similar, the squadron continued to operate in the bomber offensive role throughout 1944 and into 1945, flying increasingly around the clock as the German fighter defences evaporated. Its final operation was on 25 April 1945, and the
Thanks Tundra and thanks to Robus for carrying this on. IMHO this should be more than a 'just posting a picture and run site'. Each post, wherever possible, should try to enhance knowledge. But that is just my opinion.

Was that one of these, Albionic?
The FV434 is the Armoured Repair Vehicle variant of the British Army's FV430 series of armoured fighting vehicles. Introduced in the 1960s, it is operated by the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). It is still used by the REME, but is soon to be phased out.
The FV434's primary role is to repair disabled and damaged vehicles, but it also has a limited recovery capability. It is fitted with a crane (capable of lifting up to 3 tons) to assist its work in repairing armoured and un-armoured vehicles. The FV434 is capable of changing other FV430 series power packs, however, it is unable to handle the power pack the British Army's Challenger 2 main battle tank - this is done by Challenger ARRV in forward areas and soft skin repair vehicles in base areas.
In addition to the crane, the FV424 is fitted with a fold-away work bench to the rear of the vehicle. Like its personnel carrier version, it is capable of amphibious operation with the aid of

Many of these vehicles were mothballed in the 90s.
However, upgraded variants are still in service today. - view external link
