Not seen any links but Steve McClaren quit Nottingham Forest after they blocked the January deadline day transfer of George Boyd from Peterborough United, bizarrely saying he'd failed his medical because his vision wasn't 20:20.


Shortly after Boyd joined Hull City on loan then permanent in the summer. Since then he's mainly been a bench player for them.

I'm fairly sure Mac was long gone before that transfer window?

Didn't he only stay for about 10 games or so?

Wasn't that Alex Mcleish, about 18 months after McClaren had left?

Have you been drinking Stuart or maybe you account was hacked? Boyd's failed eye test was on the last day of the January 2013 transfer window. SM left Forest 10 games into the 2011-2012 season, some 15 months earlier.

Anyway was there a point to the thread? Are we rumoured to be connected with him?

My aging memory let me down. The point was if McClaren wanted Boyd then he might still rate Boyd now.

Obviously I got that wrong as it was McLeish. So, thanks to my poor memory, no point at all. Sorry.

I wouldn't want him anyway.

Seems like a dirty player. He spat at Joe Hart and got a ban for that, he's known to dive on the odd occasion anyway.
