re: Has anyone forgiven Keogh yet?

The centre back partnership of Keogh and Buxton got us 5 points clear in 3rd place last season.

For all Buxtons significant improvement it is Keogh who marshals that defence and captains the team, as well as doing his job.

Is he the best CH out there? No he isn't.

Did he do bloody well for us last season? Yes he bloody well did.

Was he the only person to make an error on the build up to the play off final goal? No, he wasn't.

Should he be held responsible? No, daft suggestion.

His error partly cost us the game and he has taken responsibility for that, it was an awful clearance. But I am more angry with our wide players for the constant poor delivery into the box when playing against a ragged 10 man QPR. Any sort of quality in the final 3rd in that game and we would have been stroking it about like we did late on against Brighton.

I'm not actually angry at any of them, they had a right go and were unfortunate not to win - as Steve McClaren said if they are ready then they will win.
In fact I think the defeat at Wembley could be a defining moment for the club - the talk is of keeping the squad together and improving it further. The whole club is united in that ambition and the ownership group are fully behind that ambition. There will be more fans for the home games and the players will be massively focused on getting the job done. We won't be one season wonders so to be critical of the squad who gai

Keogh doesn't deserve any brickbats. He deserves a medal. Great player. Awesome defender. Wonderful footballer. Great vision. A gift to football

Nowt to forgive, the guys wholehearted and has been part of a back four that finished 3rd in the championship and narrowly lost in the play off final!

Fans seem to forget that most games are won or lost due to an error, its just tough on Keogh that it happened in the last minute at Wembley, but hey he didnt purposely do that and 9 times out of 10 the ball would have fizzed away from danger.

Derby's team is by and large composed of average players who McClaren and his fellow coaches have got playing consistnetly above their ability, compare the realtive values and wages of the Rams agaianst QPR and on paper we should never have been that close anyway!
