    England World Cup No Chance

After watching last nights game we have no chance of winning the world cup even if we play brilliantly. Neither has anyone else come to that unless they are prepared to bribe the ref.
Last night was terrible. A certain sending off. Then Neymar, the player who should have been sent off scoring two goals. A penalty that should never have been given. Croatia having a perfectly good goal disallowed. Then to rub salt in the wound Neymar shaking hands with the ref when he was substituted. Is the ref related to Sep Blatter?

I don't get why people keep saying croatia had a perfectly good goal disallowed...do people just not know the laws of the game?

    The ref did not...

Putting aside the controversial incident, neither team impressed me much. Brazil... Nah not for me.

At many tournaments the winning team has started slowly out of the blocks. Oscar was superb, Marcello and Alves too.

I still think Brazil v Argentina final.

    Argies to win on penos!

The rules are that you are not allowed to challenge the goalkeeper as he jumps for the ball. In this case the Croatian player jumped to head the ball the ball goalkeeper stepping backwards collided with the player and did not catch the ball. The goal keeper in this case was certainly not fouled. Incidently he dropped the ball quite often in the game guess he was just lucky in this instance.

You are not allowed to touch the goalie as he attempts to collect the ball, and he touched the goalie. definite foul with the rule as it is.

Looks like the ref in tonights game doesn't know the rules too as in Hollands 3rd goal one of their players clearly challenged the Spanish goalie for the ball

Is that true, the goalie jumped into them as much as they jumped into him. Any physical contact with the goalie is a foul, don't sound right to me, or every corner would be a foul.

It was a goal in 9 times out of 10 games.

yep the ref made a mistake, hardly surprising given the first 2 games.

Well the actual rule is as follows:

    (3) In case of body contact in the goal-area between an attacking player and the opposing goal-keeper not in possession of the ball, the referee, as sole judge of intention, shall stop the game if, in his opinion, the action of the attacking player was intentional, and award an IFK.

So there is room for interpretation by Refs as to whether the attacking player is genuinely challenging for the ball or attempting to challenege t
