    re: dougie freedman.

Some fans talk like he took over a squad in ruins. The whole basis of the argument to sack Coyle was that we could be having a right go at it with the players we had. In fact, we did in the last few months of that season. Now that everything's since turned to sh1t - in which period he's HAD money to spend - we're using the excuse that he inherited a crap squad. I don't get it.

If we're being honest, he's generally been a failure thus far. That there's no obvious suitable alternatives isn't a justification for keeping hold of him, although the cost of doing otherwise may be.

I think some fans are still on a high from finishing last season with some positive results, just like last summer, and we all know what followed.

A poor first couple of matches this season and all that evaporates.
There'll be booing as early as the first home match if we lose at Watford (unless we get an early goal). Unfortunately, the financial situation means that what the board does with Freedman is a sepa

He inherited a whole load of "look at me I'm Premiership quality" sh1te-house no marks who failed week in and week out to put in the effort needed in the hardest division in the football league. Yes, there's the argument that he should get the best out of them, but what chance had he with attitudes and effort that we witnessed in so many games.

He did well at Palace with young and hungry players. Hopefully, he'll do the same here now that he's shipped out (and appears to be shipping out) those said players. Time will tell
