On a positive note, I believe we will mostly rely on loans, but we have a strong squad who played together all last season, plus they are young and have an extra season of maturity.
Hopefully by Christmas people will be saying... "I wonder who is going to join Derby in the Prem?"

    re: Are we done now?

I think we have made some shrewd signings this Summer. We have the same squad we finished with minus Bamford and Wisdom. Instead we have Cyrus Christie for the RB spot, who looks like he may fit into our attack minded play easily enough.

We have got Keogh, Buxton and Whitbread for the CH position, with OB still to make a comeback. I have given up on the Barker situation sadly.

The midfield is possibly the best outside of the Prem, and there are plenty of options with Ward, Dawkins, Russell and maybe even this Calero for the wide men. We may still be light up front, and Sammon must be make or break now.

I personally think we will start with who we have now, and if needs be,then Mac will turn to loanees again.

It is a strong squad, we finally have a bit of depth, the players are all tied down on long contracts, and seem to want to succeed with us. I dont fear any team this year.

What shape do you think you will play this season?

And who is the first choice XI for that formation?

I have a feeling there will be three more in yet - but three out too.

Just a hunch but I can see Ward, Keogh and Sammon all being replaced before the end of August.

Sammon works his socks off but just isn't good enough in my opinion and the other two are in the final year of their contracts with question marks over their heads too. I can see Sam Rush getting fees for all three while he can. Maybe A£2million combined if we are lucky?

Would have loved to have Mancienne on board here but we've missed that boat. Eagles and Chris Wood to replace Ward and Sammon wouldn't be bad business though.

    re: Are we done now?

Whatever others might think about Keogh he is and will remain first choice CB and we have cover as already stated in this thread for that position and at full back.

We are in the market for a forward player and possibly a wide midfielder.

    Anybody else will be loans.

We are not planning to sell anyone other than Sammon.

Given that we have only lost Bamford and Wisdo from the squad, its certainly not weaker than last season.

Christie isn't first choice RB. And Freeman will be going depending on if we can get someone.

bamford was mainly a sub option. I think sammon will go and three loans plus 1 possibly 2 more ins.

Christie was signed as first choice right back not sure why you'd think otherwise, but thems the facts.

Well they aren't, but never mind. McClaren has hardly seen anything of Christie. It's a gamble we're looking to cover.
