Nor am I convinced you did 25 years in the Army, but we are both guessing.

Personally I want to see us out of the EU and split from Scotland. Very much a little England er here.

But what confuses me with Mickleover' s comments is that concerning serving his country in the Army. Did you not get paid in this job? If you did, it's not exactly servitude is it? How is it any different to serving the local community by empting bins or working in Mcdonalds? I'm guessing you didn't get killed in this job either, so what's the big deal about it. Does "killing in the" make you any more or less patriotic than the next man? It's just a job isn't it??

I agree on Europe, but not Scotland, Roger.

But i agree entirely on the rest. I though about writing what you did, but couldn't be ****d with it so just put "oh gawd".

As an expat who visits frequently, I have somewhat different views possibly than many on here. I would be sorry to see Scotland leave, not because I have any love for the Scots nor they for the English I'm sure, but because we are simply better and stronger together than apart.

As to Europe all I can say is this: Why don't we have a referendum right now and see if the majority of British people want to stay in the European Union? Why has there not been one since 1974?

Why don't we have a referendum & see if Derby county want to stay in The "Championship"?
It makes about as much sense.
