Its still work in progress, Thorne's loss has left Mac with a dilemma, but i still think we miss Hughes playing further forward, when the guy from Real Madrid has acclimatised to the championship i think he will start in that role.

But we are keeping clean sheets and creating chances - Russell really should have scored from one of them.

you should be more concerned with the level of performance rather than the no goals column.

JR missed 2 sitters which on another day he'd have scored them both.

we were poor today by our own very high standards. awfully sloppy in the 1st half and should have been at least a couple down at half time. improved after the break and should have won with those JR chances but a draw was probably just about a fair result. I'm sure they'll feel they edged it.

I have to give dawkins a special mention because he was abysmal today in every department. as soon as JR came on for him it changed the game. absolutely no way dawkins can start ahead of JR on Tuesday night. very disappointing effort from him.

Did Jamie ward run off down the tunnel like a little baby when he was substituted ?

It appeared that way, but it was a weird sub. Instead of Hughes and Ward being a double substitution they were about a minute apart. Almost like Ward was injured and asked to come off. So he may have gone for treatment.

I was wrong in my earlier post re the forward. It wasn't the jailbird Madine but Nuhiu.
    My apologies.

Admittedly only seeing two matches the passing fluidity isn't yet working but the problem with the scoring is:-
    1 Bryson hasn't had a good game - yet.
2 Dawkins always holds the ball too long.
3 Russell has shades of Samon and can't finish his good runs of.
3 We miss Hughes's defence splitting passes because he is playing too deep
However only 3 games no goals against and 4 points on the board. I'm sure Steve and the team will sort things out.

That seems a fair assessment. If we move Hughes back to his normal position, who do we have that can play the DMF role? Could Coutts so it?

On Bryson... I think we were all saying the same at the start of last season. I don't think he had a decent game until hendrick did his ankle. I just don't think you can play the two of them together in the same team.

McClaren may be falling into the same trap Clough did in trying to fit all our best players into the system. Sorry Mac, you need to bite the bullet and drop either Bryson or Hendrick.
