    Diafra Sakho - Committed???

One of my French colleagues just came back from holiday today and she told me that on her flight home yesterday, she was sat next to Diafra Sakho.

She knows nothing about football and didn't even know who he was at first. I think he was just trying to chat her up and impress her. Gave her his email and phone number.

He said that he had just signed a four year deal with West Ham but, wait for it, he only wants to stay with us for one year because he really wants to play for Chelsea.

That's the sort of player we need in our team, someone really committed to the cause.

Flip side, if he wants to get signed by Chelski hes gotta do the business at ours.

on the flip-side to that comment (if true), he'll have to bust a nut for us to prove that he is good enough for the big boys...

He is a professional and, like all of us, wants to do his job at the highest level he can.

We aren't at the highest level. Chelsea are.

And as the others have said to get there he'll have to do the business at our level first.

Does anyone really think Mark Noble, for example, would still be with us if Arsenal came knocking?

i personally think he would, chances of a regular start at the Arse would be rare for him imo.

The modern game is one of footballing mercenaries. There is some loyalty in that you'll find the odd player who will refuse to move sideways for a few extra quid, but you'd be hard pressed to find one single player in our squad who, if he was honest, doesn't want that move to the plastics.

If that is his intention,he might have joined the wrong club.

He does actually need to get on the pitch. And that is not guarranteed at our club.
