    why go back to Portugal

Like all Well fans I'm dismayed with performances in both europe and domestic.

In 4 league games we've managed 6 shots on target (4 against st mirren) and managed 1 goal.

McCall chose to go back to Portugal for what appears a lads jolly when the team should have been getting fitness drilled into them and then a host of games to get the scoring boots on and confidence up before the european game.

Our approach has been poor, not signing a direct replacement for Anier is a shocking decision.

I've been impressed with McCall over the last few years, last season we got into the habit of winning ugly and won several games without playing well.

So far we've just been ugly and it's not obvious how it will improve. Hanging hopes on people like Lawson getting fit fills me with dread.

Spot on. A poor, unfit joke of a team at the moment and it's hard to see us improving any time soon. Every team in the league has a jump on us regards fitness. Double sessions required for a couple weeks i think. The trouble is, our player's don't seem to like a bit of hard work at the moment.

McCall is a chancer of the highest order , been saying it for a long time. He WILL be found out for what he really is this year. This is diabolical . We have done nothing for months and this joke of a manager will only drag us down further. Watch this space.

McCall seems to put more emphasis on a happy squad than a fit one and that 'philosophy' is catching up with us big time. The blase attitude of the players is deeply concerning and has to raise serious questions of the management at Fir Park. For us to be this unfit and ill prepared as early on as this is unprofessional and when you consider the club - who are never done pedalling the 'we're skint' line - must have shelled out a fair chunk for this 'team building exercise' in Portugal then it really gives our bad, bad signs about what's going on at FP.

Its simply not good enough and quite frankly, we are a shambles of a club.

Shambles definitely - with a team full of users. When you consider the lack of fitness and commitment - I'd say the large majority of the team are in breach of contract. McCall is - as I have said so before - the captain of the Titanic - he will take our club down if allowed - he has been neglecting his duty!

    Idiotic comments.
The comments are idiotic only because we can't get rid of him. We can't afford the pay-off, we can't afford to pay compensation to a club for their manager so we'd be stuck with whatever dross is on the dole and we don't have any money to give a new manager to spend on the team.
So we're stuck with McCall and his ridiculous team selections, ridiculous tactics, ridiculous substitutions and unfit, leaderless team. Our only hope is that unlike his mate Ally (who he gifted the cup game to) he does do walking away.

Mark my words, we're heading for admin with Stuart McCall as manager. The tea boy as General Manager doesn't help either.

So McCall steadied a sinking ship, reached a cup final, and secured three consecutive best of the rests - and now (a few games into) one bad season, this is his true level, the rest was luck? Aye, alright then.

McCall has plenty of flaws, he wouldn't have been anywhere near Fir Park if he hadn't, but come on...if a bad spell and a few bad decisions, while ignoring all the positive, is a sacking offence we'd be changing manager every eight months.
