    Ice Bucket Challenges

Anyone done one yet and would you if nominated?

I can't decide if it's a decent charity fundraiser or a thoroughly nauseating load of rubbish...the bigger the craze gets the more I lean towards the latter.

I think it's in the eye of the beholder. A number of people seem to be against it on the basis that they donate to charity already and don't need an attention seeking exercise to prove it. Fair enough.

I found myself nominated on the weekend and took part, it was a good laugh actually. I also donated, but to a smaller local charity instead.

Following this I nominated 3 pals, only one of which did it. I have no problem with that, to each their own.

Anything that gets people donating to charity can't be bad, but this is beginning to feel like you need a tattoo, or an appearance on Jeremy Kyle, to really feel part of it.

That said, my daughter did it yesterday and she enjoyed it - although she is only eight.

My wife* got nominated and did it yesterday, it was a bit of a laugh I suppose.
I hardly ever venture onto facebook or twitter these days so unlikely to know if I've been nominated. Doubt I could be arsed to do it though anyway.

*for the record my wife doesn't have a tattoo nor has she appeared on Jeremy Kyle

Hmmm you may have a point, I have occasionally wondered why one of my kids is black

I was more thinking about the fact she spent the first 20 years of her life called Dave.

She must have been on twice.

I was nominated last night by my 9 year old niece* and have no intention of doing it although knowing my ne'er do well bunch of nieces, I'll get ambushed anyway. The best one I've seen is of a local bunch of lasses doing a group one which involved a one of those gert big tractor trailers deluging them in hundreds of gallons off water.

    * can I just make it clear that I am NOT on mongbook.
