    Good or bad.

If he blames the players for not performing, it's like a shop owner blaming his staff for poor turnover. Who recruited them. Who trained them? Who motivated them? Whose strategy was it?

Micky did you watch the highlights on tv mate or did you go?
Because from where I sat in the stands there wasn't a lot of highlights.
I think this is where I get confused with modern day football, because not for the first time over the last couple of seasons, I was bored senseless.
Perhaps it's time for me to find another hobby, because it's not the football i have been brought up on. All this bollox about slipping up against lower division, it shouldn't happen, if we are a supposed stronger outfit, with or without kids in the side.
Ask yourself would Arsene Wenger have been happy with that performance last night?.[/quote]

Not sure what you were brought up on but West Ham have for years lost to lower league teams just like last night...its been hapenni

" If running up and down the touchline yelling and screaming is needed to get players to play then it is a sad world we live in. Did Ron Greenwood have to do this to get Bobby Moore to bother...WTF ! "

Their wages werent at the level they are now-a-days. Once these lot get the cash in their pockets motivation is spasmodic.IMO. Shouldnt be. ok some exceptions, but i think money is more the motivator than the game.

I tend to think that if a manager shows a couldnt careless attitude it rubs off. All Sam seemed to do last night was slouch in his seat chewing gum.

But as i said previously, there was nothing at all wrong with his team selection, so that leaves only one of two things, or a combination of both, the players couldnt be bothered, or the manager couldnt.

the manager has to accept overall responsibility no doubt... but..

it was the team that lost the game not the manager,
a decent selection of players imo including everybody's darling Morrison

as another 1 said, how do you motivate a well played professional even a grass roots?

those youngsters should have been plucking out trees to prove themselves regardless of any manager, they didn't so perhaps we can put this academy stuff to bed! ( Poyet excluded).

not sure what the lardman did wrong yesterday but i'm sure we'll find something to blame him for.

    Well said, John.

The line up looked good but our players underperformed.

If we manage to play well & get a win against Soton you won't see any threads titled "Well Done Allardyce" and if there is it'll be full of crickets and tumbleweeds.
