Everton defender Leighton Baines is prepared to spend the rest of his career at the club, after having previously been linked with a move to Manchester United.

The England international has been at Goodison Park since signing from Wigan Athletic in 2007 and has been the Toffees’ top performer since making the switch.

His form over the last few seasons not only saw interest from Manchester United arise, but also gifted the full-back the number one spot for England at left-back.

Baines agreed a new four-year contract to stay on Merseyside recently and confirmed he was right to turn down Man Utd in favour of staying at Goodison Park.

Baines, 29, now admits he cannot see himself anywhere else and is ready to stay at the club for years to come.
