Pub & Restaurant for Friday Evening Plz.

We are travelling down and staying in Fratton tonight (Fri) prior to tomorrow's Newport game.

Please can anyone suggest a decent social evening pub and/or restaurant within 15 min walk.

Tripadvisored to death and not John Jacques (Weatherspoons?) done that.

Morning Exile, we are travelling down today for a couple of nights also and usually head for Old Portsmouth for food (Still & West / Spice Island). The Ship Anson round by The Hard is quite reasonable as well and they sometimes have a band on. The Fawcett Inn or Red, White & Blue are not bad for a beer but I dont know about food.

I'd go for Old Portsmouth too, slightly more than 15 mins walk admittedly. To all of you travelling down enjoy the weekend and yes it will be Corky's fault if we don't win. His record when attending Fp is Abysmal

Great staff and cheap grub. Dock workers at the bar area but the adjacent dining area really pleasant. Outside seating area if you smoke or a really hot day. Enjoy your day out.

Ship Anson,and the chippy next door only a couple of stops on the nearby train and you're at FP
or the Still and West..food a bit dearer than the chippy though,but a brilliant beer garden on a nice day.
