The team as a whole are not playing particularly well and some of our star players have just not turned up at the races yet, Bryson being a prime example.

We need to start firing on all 4 cylinders soon if we hope to get one of the automatic places.

Jeez and I used to be called a miserable negative ******!!!

I seem to remember that last season at this time Blackpool were on a 6 game unbeaten run and top of the table and where did they finish?

I wouldn't be worried if we are 7th come december as long as we are no more than 6 or 7 pts off the top!

I don't think we've looked that convincing from the start. The points return is okay, nothing to shout about but not worth crying over yet either.

I'm not convinced we're better than last season yet but I've been saying that since before the opening day. I haven't seen Shotton play yet because I missed the Charlton game and none of us have seen Ibe play yet.

I think we did well against Fulham but they were appalling defensively.

I just find us a bit boring, a little laboured so far. A few good spells but I still see us run out of ideas too quickly and I find it alarming that they are taking as long as they are to reach sharpness. We were good value for the lead for the first 20 minutes on Saturday, after that I thought Ipswich were the better side overall. We battered Rotherham for the first 20 minutes and then faded away, we did the same 7 competitive games later. As impressive as Hendricks is, I can't accept his departure as a good enough reason for what I saw after. I can accept

The major thing for me is that we're 7th (who looks at the table this early anyway) and we haven't even been playing well. More importantly not only do we know that but the players know that and The Mac knows that. When we start firing there won't be much stopping us. *****ly it's about how long that takes us.

May I offer a view as a neutral?

Look you had a crap side last season - I mean to be honest, no where in your dreams did you think on Match day 1 last season, with the team you had in place and with Clough in charge, did you expect to be at Wembley on May 24th last.

On Sept 28th last, after your defeat to us, with your league position and Clough's dismissal and with McClaren appointed, did you expect to have 80+ points on match day 46?

    I think not.

The fact was and is, that he took your lot by the scruff of the necks and coaxed you to punch well above your weight. Players that were crap suddenly found belief, players that were ok, played a blinder and a few signings here and there steadied the ship.

Fast forward this season, you still have the bulk of last season's squad. Expectations are much higher and the element of surprise that teams found to their disadvantage playing you, has gone. They are wary of you, look at Rotherham, they came for a point and nearly got it. You can e

Romanis, that in my opinion is an excellent, objective post. I am afraid I have only seen Forest play against us last year but it appears Mr Pearce has bought well and got you buzzing. It will be very interesting to see how we react at the City Ground.

    Yeah agreed it's shocking.

One defeat in seven games this season, still in the Capital Cup, best squad we've had in years ... need I go on?
