Thread: Eustace - the midfield saviour

re: Eustace - the midfield saviour

It just makes me laugh useless eusty was the messiah against Fulham. Was very good first half v Ipswich but was exposed in the second half because our outstanding midfield were very poor and created zilch, and let their midfield through time after time. We could still have nicked it when best was slow to turn and shoot and then miss a header which was easier to score. You saw through me...

That's the point mate, he has one decent game against poor oposition and everyone thinks he is the messiah.
It baffles me why it does not work with Hughes there, he's better further forward but should still be easily able to play the holding role. The team loses it's balance though. Losing Thorne is huge to us, we can stumble through with Eustace but that's all. We will be okay against inferior teams but not the better ones.
The window is closed now so unless a loan come in or Mc shuffles the pack, we are what we are.

If Eustace stays there like you suggest then you can write this season off.

Ha Ha, I respect your opinion Triz, I really do, but I'm in the "let's have the ball and dominate possession camp". At home Keogh and Buxton shouldn't need a minder.
ok fair enough but remember terry and carvalho needed makaleke, its not about the players its about the formation. Its pretty attacking and you need a defensive midfielder to make it work.

?? I don't like Hughes playing there it unbalances the team and we def lose creativity further forward.. Having said that, it should not unbalance the team like it does and actually does Hughes play that badly there?? I don't think so, the problems are elsewhere. Possibly if Bryson had been the player he was last season, it might not hav

Nope, Bryson has been poor. As the most experienced player of our midfield 3 (Hughes Hendrick Bryson) he should be taking responsibility and pulling strings.

Needs to step up his game to match that big new contract. Forest next

Bryson's been poor because him and hendrick are too similar. henrick's been the guy breaking into the opponents box which is what made Bryson so dangerous last season. look at the goals of Bryson last season and hendrick this season. says it all really.

if hendrick is out now for a month+ I'm convinced we'll see a better Bryson playing alongside hughes. watch this space...

" Does Hughes play so badly there?" YES

Hughes is too "nice" . He completely lacks the mean, aggressive, 'I'm going to get the ball, not you' mentality that the best CDM players have.

When does everybody think Mascarell will be "ready"?
