    Loans

Apart from the grammatical inaccuracies of LOANS applied to both clubs...should be lent and borrowed.
I feel very strongly that the system of loaning players is inherently wrong and should be dispensed with.
It enables teams to stockpile talent to stop others having them.
It enables teams who are not quite sure about a player,to acquire him without much risk or great outlay
Teams should stand or fall on their ability to source players they can afford to buy and contract them to fill their squad.
    Or am I wrong ?

8/10 and then we get Papart

Don't agree about loans. Many clubs would go under without them. Or is that a price you are willing to pay?

    What you on about Winston...
Seriously though. Why would clubs go under if lent and borrowed were banned ?

Maximum number of players in a squad, all contracted...very good IMVHO

long article but gives insight into why top clubs are using loans more, to get around the rules, as always.
not sure if it applies at all at our level? - view external link

I don't mind the principle of loans, and I think that the ability to "try before you buy" is a good thing. But the "emergency loans" window is a farce, designed to circumvent the rules.

I think foreign import players should only be loaned to the lower leagues with the parent club paying all fees.
If all clubs had to pay to loan out foreign import players i believe it would help with the England cause.

It's a good point. Agree totally with a restriction in rich clubs stock piling players on the off chance they will make good.

I suppose that if you had, or we're a player , who was either young and on the fringes (so wanted and with a chance of breaking into the team) or a player who was in the team but perhaps was regaining fitness after a bad injury, then a loam spell of games, at a lower level could be very helpful.

    re: Loans

We've used the loan system, as have others, so many times over the years and I can't see it changing to be honest. The big clubs have so much power nothing will change. However I have to admit I did have a smile on my face when I realised Chelsea had 26 out on loan. Also Monaco ST holders having parted with their dosh in increased numbers, are now demanding their money back after the departure of their so called Golden two, Rodriguez (Real Madrid) and Falcao (Man Utd).
