And then consider the fact that we were very often stuck with a full ground and unable to hit our true attendance potential, while the blue few down the road were always sat living it up in a half full (at best) stadium.

Just out of interest, what was the capacity of the Dell when standing was allowed?
Those stats would suggest you only overtook us in the last 18 months or so.
I think it was a couple of years ago that we overtook you as I think this table has been posted up before.
From memory, I can remember us having a capacity of around 26k, then it was reduced to about 20k, then eventually down too about 15k for the last few years at the Dell. I'm sure we've had over 30k in the old girl before though.
I certainly remember being at the Dell against Manure back in the day.
At least 30,000 inside and loads of them up the trees in Archers Road getting a view over the stand.
Our highest attendence in recent years was 89,874 at the 2008 FA Cup Final which of course we won.
The not too blue few!
I'd be very wary of any stats which include Stevenage with an average attendance of over 9,000
9,874 Pompey and 80,000 from the other team, whoever they were, and hanger ons who got complimentaries. Impressive to say the least.Originally Posted by simondenmead
If you add on Wembley attendances then we'd be back in front. Sweet.
Official figures say 44,000 Saints fans rolled up for the JPT final, unofficial figures put that number at over 50,000..Originally Posted by Manco
Compare and contrast with the allocation of just 25,000 that lot down the road were seemingly unable to shift for their 2010 Wembley final..
