    FAO Jilted John...

After visiting places all over England and Wales in my travels im ashamed to say that i have never visited Scotland and i aiming to rectify this sometime in the future...

What is Dundee like for a short visit just for a couple of days?

Are there many b+b`s there so that i could just turn up to?...

Could you recommend any coastal towns in Scotland thats worth a visit?...

    Edit

Im hoping that he reads FAO threads...

Dundee's nice but the city centre is a mess at the moment, a lot of demolition work going on, the train station is being refurbished, a V&A museum about to be built and a marina.
There are B&B's but I can't recommend any as I have never stayed in any up here.
Dundee is built along the River Tay and the Broughty Ferry area is lovely with pebble and sandy beaches.
There's a couple of historic ships in the city centre area, the RRS Discovery and the Unicorn.
If you've got your motor, a drive up the Law (an extinct volcano in the middle of the city) gives great 360 degree views over Dundee.
Dundee's not really for the tourists but they are working on that, hence the work going on in the centre.
Our coastal towns don't do kiss me quick hats, 14 miles east is Arbroath once a thriving fishing port but a little run down these days - Buc can tell you more, I think he has a caravan there. 14 miles south is St Andrews, I love St Andrews, you can stand next to the 18th and watch stupid Yanks try

Its beautiful up there chalks go to glammis castle while in the Dundee area its nice up there. I found the bnbs in Dundee were a little bit pricey . Get up there before they leave the union because you don't want to give them your money when they've left

"bnbs" you confused me for a second, I thought you meant blue nosed b*st*rds, that's what the dabs call us Dundee fans.

If you can afford it Chalks, I recommend Edinburgh for a day or two, it's getting a bit dear but worth it.[/quote]

I concur regarding this City, it's great that you meet a lot of tourists and not many scots

Aye, Eck's Edinburgh is becoming more like the Queen's London every day.
