    Stewards Rules

I have been told that stewards are not allowed to chase onto the pitch after a fan! has invaded it. This was the excuse given for not going onto the pitch on Sunday to apprehend Forest supporter. If this is true it beggers belief. It means if you evade the stewards, chase onto the pitch run round, goad the opposition fans and assault a player stewards can do nothing till you come off the pitch. Pathetic and idiotic.

    re: Stewards Rules

I once did aground tour of Pride Park many years ago- about 12 years ago in fact and this information was given out. It was shortly after a Derby v Manchester United game (3-3) under John Gregory when a streaker was on the pitch for about 6 minutes until Fabian Bartez grabbed hold of a certain part of him! I did the ground tour the following week and we were told that stewards were not permitted to chase after pitch invaders as it usually inflamed the situation.

Wasn't one fan detained ON the pitch?
