Dundee's nice but the city centre is a mess at the moment, a lot of demolition work going on, the train station is being refurbished, a V&A museum about to be built and a marina.
There are B&B's but I can't recommend any as I have never stayed in any up here.
Dundee is built along the River Tay and the Broughty Ferry area is lovely with pebble and sandy beaches.
There's a couple of historic ships in the city centre area, the RRS Discovery and the Unicorn.
If you've got your motor, a drive up the Law (an extinct volcano in the middle of the city) gives great 360 degree views over Dundee.
Dundee's not really for the tourists but they are working on that, hence the work going on in the centre.
Our coastal towns don't do kiss me quick hats, 14 miles east is Arbroath once a thriving fishing port but a little run down these days - Buc can tell you more, I think he has a caravan there. 14 miles south is St Andrews, I love St Andrews, you can stand next to the 18th and watch stupid Yanks try
