    Player Ratings V Cardiff

    Grant 6
Had Jack Scheisse to do except pick the ball out of the net. Twice.
    Christie 7
Far better than Shotton. Set up the first goal. Regular raids down the right and some good balls in.
    Keogh 7
Defence let in 2 goals but the goals were a collective shambles not individual errors. Keogh led well and put in a few great blocks including one superb flicked tackle at the very end to stop Jones. Still attracting blame for Derby’s leakages. Some good ball out.
    Whitbread 6
Got “done “ along with Forsyth for goal #2. Headed and blocked well but some of his passing was sloppy and chose to hoof a bit when he could have passed.
    Forsyth 6
He has lost his edge when it comes to attack. Put in some runs but lacked the courage to go the whole hog when he saw the whites of the opposition’s eyes.
    Bryson 7
Very good game and a very good goal from 20-odd yards in-off the post. Lots of energetic running and ball-winning.
    Hughes 7
    Expansive game. Kept

Largely agree with you but would make these points:
Keogh did play well running about feverishly and is quicker than he looks, however as captain his job is to marshal the defence calmly. We keep making defensive errors and I think he should be much more vocal in demanding who does what and when ,not chasing his tail.
Dawkins looked better but still seems to get a rush of blood in front of goal. Midfield is not clicking and the loss of Hendrick is beginning to show.
Martin still goes over too easily/theatrically. Refs like Marriner will never buy that. (The ref was a real joke today). I think the point about Best is he is an impact sub until Martin is injured/suspended. That is what he was brought in for.
Thought Ibe did well against tiring opposition. Maybe he is the Hendrick solution.
Teams will park the bus at iPro but we need to cut through and at the moment we don't. Crosses are poor as are most corners and free kicks. They need more pace and whip.

I thought we played well today. Their goalkeeper pulled off 4 good saves to deny us more goals.
    Poor defending cost us again
Back post header from corner back into the middle for first goal and Whitbread either could have passed it back to Grant or hoofed it up the field before he lost it
I would like to see Forsyth whipping free kicks in instead of Ward

Morning Ella.. Congrats on the 6500 posts
Where do I start with yesterday..
    Grant. Agree.
Forsyth - steady game but yes should have done better with the second.
    Whitbread - as above
Keogh - thought he did really well yesterday, made some really good challenges and looked confident.
Christie - showed real character yesterday after getting dropped for Forest. Made a statement to SM. Don't drop me again.. Well done lad.
Eustace - well... Again had an acceptable game against a team, in the first half, who asked NO questions of him.
    Bryson - welcome back son
Hughes - MOTM for me.. His passing and vision were exceptional yesterday, cut them to pieces with two superb passes in the first half. Allround top dog yesterday.
Dawkins - the lad does get some stick and is still learning his craft. Yesterday had one of his good days.. Still errors in judgement but he is a handful when things are going for him.
Ward - played well with Christie and Cardiff struggled with us all afternoon down
