    Give us a Wave

The very fans who persecuted Jermaine Beckford for acknowledging the Leeds United support last month seemed delighted to see Gary Cahill oblige them in much the same way at Stamford Bridge the other night.

There always has to be a scapegoat for some Bolton fans and Beckford just happens to be their target.

When Beckford was warming up for us against Rotherham, many Bolton fans were applauding Beckford and not booing him. Unfortunately, we have some idiots as so called fans.

Baffles me why people criticise players for acknowledging fans of clubs that they used to play for. It happens the world over. Get over it

I remember going away to Sunderland a few years ago and we thrashed them 4-1, Diouf came over when the game finished and applauded the Bolton fans for about 5 minutes, don't know if that went down well with the Mackems but at least their manager Roy Keane had the decency to resign after the match.

Not sure where I stand on this one.

On one hand, I think, what's the big fxxxing deal? It's only in football that there are these do's and don'ts fathomed up out of some misguided idea of loyalty. There'd never be this much drama made from it in most other sports.

On the other hand, I think Beckford should have known just how football fans operate, and shouldn't have gone further than a respectful applause at full time.
