Could complacency be a problem Tuesday?

I always worry when top teams play "Bottom feeders". Does anyone else have the same concerns for Tuesday night in Blackpool?

Of course it could be an issue, but that's what separates great sides from good sides. We all know we have more than enough ability to beat Blackpool so this game relies a lot on mentality. If we slip up, I think it would be a huge wake up call and a sign we still have a lot of improving to do.

I'd argue Chelsea had the best squad last season, yet finished second despite doing the double over league winners Manchester City. Slipping up against lower teams was their problem. There's no point beating teams around you if you lose to lower teams, so Tuesday is just as important as any other game. There's no difference in importance between Tuesdays game and the potential "title clash" between us and Watford in a months time.

I think it's just a reference to league positions. I know anyone can beat anyone in this league but in all honesty, if every other 23 clubs in this league were asked where their most likely guaranteed 6 points would come from it would be Blackpool, which may let in a sense of natural arrogance and that's probably where Blackpool will look to get their points, through teams underestimating them. It's important we treat them like we would with sides around us like Watford, Boro & Norwich. If we do then we will win, if not, we could be looking at 2 points dropped at least.

Not complacency but it will be tempting to rest one or two players - Martin, Eustace, Hughes are obvious ones. There is a risk in doing that but might still be worth doing.

Thats not been McClaren's style and can't see him rotating many to be fair.

I doubt there will be much complacency, the coaching squad are too good to allow that, but it wills till be a tough game 1pt would be Ok by me.

Really? No disrespect to Blackpool but if we want to go up, or even win the league then we must be taking 3 points off Blackpool, regardless of us playing away from home.

In all honesty I wouldn't have been surprised if Blackpool didn't win a game this season, although credit to them and their manager that they have.

A couple weeks before the season started they had 8 players and no goalkeeper, so their squad is made up of cast-offs, loanees, and players that went nearly a whole pre-season without being able to find a club. I'm sorry but three points is the minimum we should be expecting if we really plan on going up automatically this year.

1 pt from any away game is a good result in this league, yes the aim should be to go there and get the win and I'm sure thats what McClaren will set out to do, but irrespective of what Blackpool's team looks like on paper, a team fighting for survival can be tough to beat, I fully expect us to win, but would not be unhappy with a draw.

Three points is the minimum? How the hell are we supposed to do more than the minimum?
