    What's your views on Ibe?

I have only seen him play a couple of times.

He seems to be very skillful and has the ability to do something special. However, he does not always know what to do with the ball sometimes and there have been times when he has made poor decisions as to when to release the ball or get into a good position. Overall, I think he is an exciting talent, but is certainly not the finished article.

Liverpool were right to send him out on loan for him to learn his trade.

I think he will do well for us this season.

I think he is costing us at the moment. Yes, his goal was good at Reading, but he offers less than Bamford did at times. I believe he stifles our style.

Blind alleys, the footballing brain of a potato, and the inability to lay an easy pass to the galloping Forsyth.

I'd rather our own players learnt the trade here if he's the best we can get. Calero should be given a chance.

Just my opinion. I think he needs 20 more games before he starts making the right decisions - but probably so does Calero.

    Got to agree with that.

I don't understand how players (not just Ibe) can have such awesome technique and ball skills, been part of a professional football club since they were kids, yet can't 'see' best passes, deliver simple crosses etc.

I do think he is a threat for us, but his ability to beat a man or three is countered by his decision making. Useful option for the squad but shouldn't be nailed on for a shirt every week.

    A few points

    1. Our results have been good since he came into the team.
    2. He gives us out and out pace, which I believe draws defenders and creates spaces elsewhere for others to exploit
    3. I like his direct running at defenders. Sure, it doesnt always come off, but at least I expect something to happen
    4. He is still learning, and I expect Shteeeve will improve him
    5. Is he the only player who makes bad decisions? No!

If he was the finished product, he would be in Liverpool team. I dont expect he will play every game for us, but think he will play more than he doesnt. Also, by end of season I expect him to be around the 10 goal mark, which for me is a great target for a winger

For every frustrating performance like last night, I expect he will have a starring show like he did against Reading in the cup

I think some are being too harsh on the lad. He's 18 don't forget. He's scored 2 good goals already, one of which was entirely his own making, and he's been a real threat for all but one of the games he's played in.

He can beat a man more easily than anyone in our team. I'd argue it's his job to try and beat the world at times.

We have Ward, and particularly Russell and Dawkins who are more comfortable passing the ball around and "playing the opposition to death". Ibe gives us a direct option when our plan a isn't working. His decision making will get better game to game, and I for one am delighted with his efforts so far. Anyone who was at the Reading cup game knows just what he's capable of, he was electric that night.

I think he'll have a good game vs. Wigan. Lets all just be patient with a player who could potentially win us a game by himself, something we may rely on at some point this season.

Nothing that Dawkins, Ward, Russell or Calero are not capable of though. Like i say, if he's the best we can get on loan

Cov Ibe's clearly your scapegoat, a la Angry/Eustace.

He may hold onto it a bit too long, but you're making out he's hurting the team, which he isn't.

Forest away, Ibe and Calero came on, Calero didn't touch the ball yet Ibe made a huge difference. I'm not saying I don't like Calero or I don't want him to get his chance, I'm merely saying Ibe offers us an outlet, who's confident enough to beat his man when needed. He scored a very important goal vs. Reading, so it's hard to ******* the lad. With Ward and Dawkins out, I'm delighted Ibe's here. Can you not see how talented he is?

    very harsh dave.

the thing about Ibe is he's young. he strikes me as a modern day young footballer. blessed with immense talent but not quite there in terms of application. he looks like one that could develop onto a big time Charlie or an international superstar.

this derby side plays in a very specific way and it takes players time to learn the style and their role in the team.

his ability is unquestionable. it was there for all

re: What's your views on Ibe?

From the comments that are made, he offers pace which is ***** to any team. Saying that, there are a lot of modern footballers with blistering pace, but take that away and they probably wouldn't be good enough to be professional footballers.

I see what you mean about holding on to it for too long, that's the sign of a quality player, having the vision to pick out the right pass and the right time to pass it. In my opinion vision is one of the hardest things to improve, you either have it or you don't. If he had the vision of Will Hughes he'd be one of the best players at Liverpool and certainly wouldn't be loaned out to the Championship.

Some people expect too much of an 18 year old who is playing in the second division.
