    After 13 games!

Last year after 13 league games we were:
    5 wins - 4 draws - 4 losses 19 points. 25 goals for & 21 against.

    This year we are: 7 wins - 5 draws - 1 loss 26 points. 23 goals for & 10 against.

    Pretty good progression.

We don't have the same RB as last year, so like for like doesn't really count.

Indeed, we've got four away wins on the bounce and six clean sheets, which now makes us the best defensive record in the league, who'd have thought it?

A good website for comparing year on year and at different points is statto.com. You can look at so many different league tables from over the seasons and individual dates from within the season. For example, at this time last year, top of the table had 32 points (Burnley) with second (Leicester) having 29. Having 26 points last season would have had us 4th, but then last season was a very high scoring year.

It's interesting to note that in the past five seasons, of the 10 teams in the top two after 13 games, 8 have gone on to get promoted that season. Just a little ella stat for you.

Cardiff in 10/11 and Leicester in 12/13. Note that both of these were second after 13 games so ever

It's better over 13 games but improvement there is no evidence as an overall team and results against opposition.

If you lay the current positions of teams in the league at the moment against the final position of teams last year the results are actually shockingly similar ... So far!

What's the main difference at this point? Last season we had played the three promoted teams by this point and lost all the games. This season on current position we haven't played a team higher than sixth but have played the three in the bottom three positions and win. Last year we had played one who ended up bottom.

The average final position of the sides we had played at this point last year was 10th. But the average current pos
