if we don't want to win games to compete at a level higher, why bother watching?

seriously, its not about whether we can stay up if we go up - its about wanting to win each game we play - whether that's realistic or not.

oh, and its also about making sure we have enough boxer shorts to allow us to cope with the amount of p!ssing ourselves we do when we watch burnely on match of the day every week!

This is a no brainer imo, it is what we strive to achieve every season, prove that we have the ability to reach the next level, there would be no point living never mind football, if we were not competitive what would be the point of living.

For me it is go up and try our best to compete at that level, if it goes tit's up we still come back down Quids in.

That old saying springs to mind. It is better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all.

Dan - what are the details for that? (Mind you, I'm not sure I'll be up at 3am every Sunday!)

Pat, I think we all want to Rovers compete and do the business. If we got into contention for promotion, I'd be there all the way and love every minute of it. But I'm also realistic enough to know that the current squad would find it very difficult to eek out the results needed to finish 17th, so wouldn't relish next season one bit.

But I agree that I'd like Rovers to fully go for it this year, next year, the year after, the year after that, (you get my drift )

May be nieve but I think Venkys will step up to the Prem £££ challenge if we go up.

I'm of the same mind Reckless. I feel very nieve in doing so I hasten to add!!

But the Rovers who go up, will be a different one if they found themselves up there. If you go up, and invest in the right areas, then you have a fighting chance. I do think Venky's will spend a bit and if do it did sensibly, with a sensible manager, like Bowyer, we have a chance of moving forward. Since Bowyer has taken over, we are moving forwards.
