    Headache for McClaren?

Its great that we are in the last 8 of the league cup but it looks like the Chelsea game will be played week commencing the 15th December?

This means we play Boro on the previous Saturday, then Chelsea in mid-week followed by the home game against Norwich at the weekend!

With the strong possibility of Chelsea game being televised, meaning we are on the box 3 times in 7 days! However, more important is what does McClaren do, pick his strongest team for all 3 games or rest players against Chelsea ?

You're right, it is a bit of a headache. Just before the busy Christmas period too.

Unfortunately, it's the down side of a cup run. Both the Boro and Norwich games are key, being against strong promotion rivals they could fall into the infamous 'six pointer' category. And we saw how crucial losing both matches to Burnley and Leicester was last season when it came to the run in. So can't see how we can rest too many for either of those. Chelsea take their cup games pretty seriously so can't see them fielding a weakened side, so we won't either.

It'll be interesting to see what he does.

Indeed it will require intelligent management but its a sign of the clubs improvement that we are in this position!
