    The Bees

... tonight apparently singing "we're going up with the Derby". Made me smile.

That result last night does rather put our defeat there in perspective though. As anothe rposter pointed out, a teams league position is not necessarily an indication of their strength as an opposition, any team in this division can hit a run of form and brentford are one of those at the moment.

To me, Brentford fans are Northerners. Its all a matter of relative geography...

How do we do like-for-like comparisons then?

    I love them, me.

To be fair, Huddersfield's form wasn't that good prior to you beating them.

I mean, they only beat Forest 3-0.

So i sat in the Brentford end watching Derby last Saturday. In the paddock, 3 rows from the front. Had a fat Brentford lass sitting on about 8 quid's worth of my seat and leg so was quite relieved when Brentford scored and she "jumped" up!

Apart from feeling rotten about losing i took away the following from that day :

    - The best Brentford pub is one called the Globe about half a mile from the ground. Good looking local girls in tight fitting Brentford shirts chosen for their ample bosoms.
    - It's a shockingly inadequate ground for Championship football. Even the home end only had about 10 urinals for 3000-400 fans along that terrace.
    - Derby's team has a lot of tall players compared with Brentford (that was the home fans conversation of the first half)
    - Before kick off pretty much all of the Brentford fans were expecting us to beat them.
    - Its still dark there even when the floodlights are on!
    - Its pitch dark in the stands even with the lights on!
    - Brentford is a nice community c
