He's done his time and therefore should be allowed to continue with his life. I don't know all the ins and outs of this at all but didn't a load of our own players get involved in an unseemly Cornwall incident that didn't go any further but may well have done and so we need to try and have some compassion in these things.

Done his time couple of years for rape,would you be happy to have him back if your daughter had been the victim ,Idoubt it.yes Ido know the details and its a sorry state of affairs when clubs and the FA welcome back convicted killers and rapists.this is a high profile sport where these people are admired .Im sure most Crew fans wouldnt welcome him playing here.

Im afraid any compassion Ihave is for the victim not the perpetrater.The victim who incidently had to leave her home town as she was publiclyd on facebook.Pity she cant get her life back .

In the eyes of the justice system he has done his time, but the total and absolute lack of remorse should disqualify him from returning to a profession where he is, almost by definition, a figure to be followed by youngsters.
There are no mitigating factors. He has never once apologised to the victim. I understand that, while he still denies rape - something a jury convicted him of - he admits the girl was drunk. His continuing denial of responsibility shows a deep arrogance and lack of concern for that girl.

I also understand he (his girlfriend's father actually)is shelling out for a private investigator to find evidence to support his claim of innocence. At least until this whole sorry business is over he should stay out of any football club.

And that's just my opinion.

The charges were dropped which is why nothing else happened. If a few crewe players were in prison right now our opinion of them would be negative

Well, I have now read a little bit more about this case, link below and for those that think he should have admitted to the rape and apologised and showed some remorse, then as he is still admitting that it wasn't rape but consensual ***, then it may not be that surprising he didn't.

Of course the Jury came to a different decision as they had all the facts in front of them and so it will be interesting if his legal team get any redress.

I would still argue despite that, he has served his time and should be entitled to continue with his life even in football. I suppose if he does continue to play professional football, there will be many fans on both sides that will be expressing their opinion one way or the other and in that he will be punished over and over again for something he will no doubt continue to argue his innocence. - view external link

The fact is that ched is a convicted rapist ,he recieved a fair trial and with all the evidence convicted.the victim can no longer continue a normal life yet he can take up where he left off.lets not forget that his people broadcast her ,she then had to leave her home area and friends and live a life elsewhere.He then serves a trivial sentence and his old club and the FA welcome him back to a highly paid profession in the lime -light I maybe on my own in this but where is the justice in that,and why should he continue where he left off .
