    FAO Southern Rams & Londoners

I've been meaning to put this up for a few weeks to seek the wisdom of angry, southern and the like.

not strictly a football post but to do with getting to away games down sarf.

all to do with parking on the jubilee line on the tube. firstly, have I completely imagined it or did it used to be £2 per day to park at Stanmore and other tube stations? it seems those vultures NCP (who I ****ing hate) have taken over and upped it to £5.20 per day in the week. unless I've made it up...

2nd, having been down to London for Fulham, Brentford and the tennis last week, each time Stanmore, canons park and queensbury was chocka block. is it just assumed on week days that you've got no chance of getting a space?

as we haven't got a train station where I live, is there an easier way of parking for the London underground to the north?

    thanks in advance.

    Hi Rapid

Seeing as I'm not travelling down from the North I don't really have that problem

There's usually somewhere near the groud you can park, so if you're driving you may as well go the whole way than spending another 45 mins on the tube.

If you're not keen on driving through, I used to use a website called something like parkinmydrive.com when I commuted to Kilburn (north London, Jubilee line) which was very useful.

If you wanna save a couple of quid, getting an Oyster card is usually cheaper than one of them travel cards they sell you.

For Stanmore, drive past the station on your left, then then take the next right straight

    cheers for the replies guys.

adi - I've always thought that driving around a football stadium in London would be a no no? football traffic at the best of times is awful and add the population density of London and surely it makes it more difficult? someone posted about the Brentford game that it took them over an hour to travel a couple of miles (can't remember who it was now). also I'm not sure whether a congestion charge applies to the routes of some football stadia in London?

dave - I always figured you for a tight **** so none of that surprises me

thanks for the advice. that sounds like it's got some legs. aren't those streets permit only? a lot of it around there is I think.

p.s. one of those occasions I'm on about I was driving all around the queensbury station to find parking. eventually got somewhere after about 30 minutes of looking. it was a nightmare.

is that about a half hour walk? or can you cut through the park if it's any quicker?
