Honestly england must be the only country in the world where its own countrymen want the opposition to win. This embarrasses me nearly as much as the reasons people give that england don't deserve to be cheered on. Nice to see a comfortable win though, it seems those plucky scotch got beat by the arrogant english...and they cant even be ****d to wear the shirt...for shame.

Loved the World Cup this year, some incredible games. Best tournament ever in the history of tournaments. England were ****e of course, but that's the norm.
I get stick for my views on England but I don't really care. I don't care if the England cricket team win or lose, or either of the national rugby sides - because I don't follow those sports. The fact that they are English doesn't make we want them to win. I don't really follow international football unless one of the tournament finals is on and then I'll watch because they can be interesting, in the same way as I occasionally watch some cricket or rugby even though I don't normally. I know most people get very passionate about national
Do i take it you dont support derby and only watch any game then? isnt that to do with supporting where you are from and a sense of identity too?
No, it isn't necessarily. For example, we have had quite a few posters over the years on this board who are not from Derby, have never lived in Derby or have no or little connection with Derby. But for a variety of reasons they began to support the club. I know a few who travel hundreds of miles to watch the team home and away, battling relegation to league 1 or in the Premier league.Originally Posted by Mickleover_Ram
Derby is my home but I am originally from Lincoln. When I moved to Derby at 14 I was a big Liverpool fan because of family connections up there at the time. But I chose to start going to watch Derby when I was 16, initially as a neutral, even though they were utterly ****e and sliding downwards towards the third tier. And I just fell in love with the club and that was the end of that, years of misery
So, as far as England is concerned - I make a choice and that is not to go with the masses. That is their choice, this is mine.
