    Money talks

Hi everybody, I have enjoyed reading the Forum for ages, mainly because over the last few years I have worked abroad and it is the only link to Crewe A where I can nowadays get a realistic or any picture of what is happening to my team. As work nowadays is taking more of a back seat because of age, I have decided I should register and add my tuppenth worth to some debates. I have been a supporter since the frank lord era to give you an idea of my age and loyalty, however that does not mean I will go blindly on pumping my money into a club with little ambition. which I am sure is the view of many supporters. I am a follower of MikeSB's views to give you an idea of my leanings.
Just a little snippet, I have read from the club that Colclough is due another op, does that mean he is involved with the police again??? Regards

    Gosh, that's got me blushing!

There is more joy in heaven over the one sinner that repenteth!

Frank Lord was a wonderful role model for any kids and as I keep saying, he has the record for the most hat tricks scored here and most with his head. Its not all doom and gloom before the Dario era, even though most on here seem to think so...But then most probably didn't see Frank and many others that graced our mud pitch and cow sheds.

I would doubt that many kids today could play on such pitches and with the ball they used back then. Even I would have been able to play to a good standard with what they have now.

    Welcome anyway!

I make that 3 now who thinks like I do!

    OK, 2...

I'm curious to know how this Board has been your only connection to the club since you've been abroad and how this equates with you threatening to pull the plug on "pumping" your "money into a club with little ambition"? Surely if this Board has been your only connection and you've not been in the country you haven't been contributing any money at all?

Mike has already had to admit that he knows nothing of what he criticises, but continues to do it anyway. Further, he continues to critique the money it costs and ignores the fact that Crewe's youth policy has delivered a substantial profit. Given this, it's a bemusing notion that doing away with the Academy will allow the club to place greater financial emphasis on recruiting "experienced professionals".

Logic seems to have taken a holiday for you guys, no?

I rarely say this but if ever a thread deserves deleting it is this one.

It starts with a 'newbie' who forgets who he is supposed to be by talking about pumping money into the club.

It is followed by itwasin reckoning he knows what Alex fans think (when clearly he is not one himself).

    Bin it.

I might work abroad, but do undertake periods of R&R,ly 2 weeks every 2 months. Until this year I have had a season ticket, in some previous years when work commitments allowed, two to drag my wife along. This year I called it a day on outlaying hundreds to only watch a relative few games particularly when the club announced it was reducing the budget, and then SD proclaimed that '' we are in a better position this year than last'' despite losing several regulars with questionable replacements.

I have paid on the gate and seen enough games this year to justify my concerns on the club's and SD's policy

One thing is clear on this board sadly is that some posters motives are questioned if they are different from the 90% who post here..You really should not have to justify anything.

I didn't question his motives, I questioned how this Board can be his "only connection" if he's also "pumping" money into the club. Of course there's nothing iffy about him declaring admiration for your views in his first ever post and the contradiction previously noticed, but I couldn't blame anyone for thinking otherwise.

I would question your motives Mike. I think your real motive on here is that you've too much time on your hands. You also seem to take a certain amount of pleasure in rubbishing the idea of coaching and basking in the nostalgia of your own youth when, of course, everything was better.
