IRON CLAW (by) IRON CLAW (2LP 2014,Rockadrome,ROCK/LION 049 V 41)VALUE £25

"Founded in Dumfries in 1969-and influenced mainly by Led Zeppelin-Iron Claw are another band on this list that didn't release a record during their original lifespan. In 2009,Ripple Music released this bruising compilation of their early recordings,a remarkably assured and weighty set.Entirely befitting of the metallic moniker, tracks such as Clawstrophobia and Skullcrusher are beefy and dark, underpinned by the flamboyantly jazzy chops of session drummer Ian McDougall.(VERBATIM)

Veritable praise indeed my noble Lord,as bands such as Hawkwind, Budgie, The Stooges,Nazareth and others are included in the list of 51 "gems" of the genre.
