Thread: Bamford or Martin

    Bamford or Martin

Unless I am going mad I have not seen many comments on here about Bamford following his excellent display on Saturday when he put us to the sword. Playing in his favoured position he could have had 3 or 4. His positional play and tracking back was also very strong. Might look a bit soft but I am not so sure. he thumped his badge after scoring though which was very odd! Looked like he was proving a point to me. I hope it was a come and get me Mac I can do it for you!
Anyway I woild love to see him in a central role for the Rams feeding off our midfield. Is he better than Chris? Would you swop?

Like being asked to compare apples with turnips.

They play 2 different roles and contribute different things.

Martin is essential for the way we play!

    this.

bamford is no doubt a talented player. his movement off the ball is exceptional. that and his finishing is why he scores so many goals.

however that's dependant on him being able to ghost into the box. that doesn't really happen when you're the only striker. further more he's not strong enough to hold the ball up front. he's a good player in the right system but wasted in ours imo.

    martin is a fantastic striker.

No. Martin is a wardrobe, Bamford a wire coat-hanger.

I'd love to see him back at the club, but it would seem he is staying at Boro.

As has been posted he is different from Martin and offer an alternative, which would be useful.

Martin all day long. We need his physical presence, his link-up ability and his general attitude on the pitch.

I'd love Bamford here, but not over Martin.
