Would be good if we got Bamford back but very little chance I think. He is different type of player to Martin yes but he conjures up goals from nothing something none of our players can do. While on the point of Martin I think his game has changed a little he used to hold the ball up sometimes now he does a one touch pass 97% of the time which is not always the right option. He also has his back to the goal most of the time. The other thing is he's started falling over again getting up and appealing for a foul. Come on Chrissie stop on your feet and get on with it.

    General attitude on the pitch?

    Probably his weakest attribute.

He's not a 90 minute player & where was he first game of the season? That's right...he's a Red Dog by nature and was thrilled at the defeat of the Tangerines. Leave him at Boro I say; we're fine without him.

I'm guessing he plays for whoever pays him so wouldn't hold any history against him. Still be a useful player to have IMO.

Bamford's biggest problem is that he wasn't born 20 years earlier IMO. He is a superb old school no.9. An andy cole type player. There aren't many of these plying their trade at the top level of the game any more. If most English top flight teams favoured a 'little n large' front pairing still I think he'd be at Chelsea still, or a top team anyway.

As for replacing him with Martin? Apples and turnips is right. Would like him in the squad, but he won't want to play wide all the time or warm the bench. He also comes across as very 'ambitious' and not sure he'd stick around for long if he got a better offer.
