Obviously some players may go, but we can then get (hopefully) decent amounts for them, as opposed to off on frees!

It might make us a yo-yo club for a while, but allows us to build sensibly, without incurring massive debt, bringing in freeloaders and ending up with old timers on long contracts.
I'm not sure that aspiring to be a yo yo club is that wise, after all it can be difficult to go back up as teams ahve found - Stoke and Swansea managed to become stable prem teams without going back down and ahve doen this through blending their promotion squads with better quali

I think we have very few plays capable of operating in the PL. Last season and more so now going up we would need massive investment in the team to sustain it.

I have been a staunch supporter of the owners and GSE over the years but I fear minimal investment and a quick off load.
If you read what I put I am actually saying the current squad is not good enough to survive in the Premier league, but Steve will have a better idea of what is needed to at least make a fight of it. Whether the owners will provide the necessary funds it a totally different matter.

Therefore, it is difficult for you to disagree with my original post because to a large degree, you are agreeing with me. [/quote]

No I stand by what I said. I don't think we are in a better position as we have a weaker squad and to add to it Mcclarens apparent weakness in the transfer marke
