For me this signing is as much about Awford as anything. We know Tubbs can score goals but he needs to be in the right system to thrive. Is this part of a larger plan, a change of style? Or is it just another square peg in a round hole like Westcarr. I would like our manager to get his act together and start building a team with a proscribed style of play that he considers right to get a degree of success in what is a pretty poor standard of football.

Absolutely agree with all that Corkhead! I 'm struggling to see a system or shape from my pew in the North Stand!

Tubbs has proved that, in scoring 15 goals in half a season @ AFC Wombles, he can operate extremely well @ this level in this Division given a half competent team around him like AFC.

But can he operate @ FP where he will (?)galvanise(?) the huge crowd and hopefully reduce miniscule crowds at other (away) clubs to silence? Only time will tell.

NOW is the time for AA to reveal his meisterplan for Pompey FC going forward, so that we can applaud a FOOTBALLING side that plays others off the park and scores goals as well. Good to see that they have used this enforced time of quiescence for a mini splurge of activity on the training and bonding fronts. The proof of the pudding ... !
