yup.

i hope i don't bore you all (yeah right) but Eustace has been magnificent since he came back into the side. breaking up play constantly. not letting the opposition get into a rhythm.

we're much more solid with him in the side. said it beforehand and surely there can be no doubt about it now.

i just hope that forest aren't able to exploit the lack of protection that omar provides to the back 4 on Saturday.

in what i expect could be a physical game I'd have been much more comfortable with Eustace in there.
Well we will see, we didin't do so shabbily before without Eustace
we were conceding goals left right and centre when Eustace wasn't in the side. coincidence?[/qu

We need to stop the whole Eustace debate, at least for this game. He isn't available for the Forest game, a massive derby game we all care so much about.

I suggested Mascarell will definitely start as it's been a toss up between him and John all season, at least in McClaren's eyes, and Eustace isn't available for it.

The question is Mascarell, a change of system, or someone else.

For those who suggested Coutts, I don't think he's a holding player, in terms of his discipline or positional sense.

Similarly Shotton is very much a defender for me, and lacks balance, composure and nous in the role.

I agree it will probably be Mascarrel, bloody hell Swales will say any anything rather than concede Eustace has made a difference.

Don't think for a second Mac will play 4 4 2.

Is ****holeabona playing or injured, if he's out, double up on Antonio and me mam could play defensive mid and we will win.

I haven't said Eustace (and having a settled back four with Bucko in it) hasn't made a difference, I'm just querying the supposition that Eustace is THE reason for our last 4 clean sheets and saying that in some games Mascarell has played in we have won and kept clean sheets!

I don't susbcribe to the assertion that the fact we seem to have found our "mojo" is simply a result of Eustace returning to the starting line up.

with your OP that's like taking the kids to pizza hut and asking them to order pasta. you were never gonna avoid it ;-)

but in answer to your question I think we have to stick with omar. changing the system is out of the question. it's got us joint top so far. I've not watched forest enough to know how they'll play. omar has played well in games where he hasn't had to defend much, like wolves for example.

if it's a game where they're happy for us to keep the ball omar could do well. I think omar has a much higher probability of being more effective at home rather than away.

if it was at the ****ty ground I'd be tempted to have stuck shotton in.

If you mean that I don't think Eustace returning is the ONLY reason for our winning the last three games (he didnt play against Southport) then your right, yet its stated as if its an indisputable fact that
Eustace = us winning games and keeping clean sheets whereas its only part of the equation.

There you said it again lol, but of course your partially right, I just feel Eustace gives the defence an added air of confidence, something no one else gives us. We have plenty ball players but no one breaks up play like Eust. The amount of tackles he gets in is amazing.

Worth adding that Eustace had an injury preventing him training for two weeks upto this game. Only trained Friday but still got the call to play against Ipswich from Smac.
To me, that just demonstrates just how much we miss GT and how Omar, though gifted, isn't seen by the mmt team as first choice DCM.
I sincerely hope Omar plays a blinder against the Red dogs. Anything less could cause (any two playing from) Will, Jeff, Craig to start dropping off affecting our offensive play.
Omar, though from one of the biggest clubs in world football, will need to not let the occasion, and no doubt robust nature of the game, affect him. He's well capable of playing a crucial role - I hope he does.
Cannot wait for the game. COYR.
