Just heard it announced on the 4 o'clock news on BBC Radio Derby. Can't think for one moment that he'll be in the team for tomorrow, but could / should be in the team against Chesterfield. Lets look forward to watching him play.

Interestingly, Mel Morris is the fella shaking his hand.

    ok I'm gonna say it...

if he's really as good as people are saying, such a bargain and baring in mind that he's just ran his contract down, why have we only given him a 2 and a bit year contract?

have we had to concede the contract length in order to get him I wonder?

What I can't understand is why we only paid @ 1/2 million for a defender who was picked for La Liga team of the month. If twelve clubs were after him including Prem. teams, why did he choose us?

Not too worried about the contract length, the lad made team of Dec last month in La Liga! There's a good chance that we could not only recoup the investment but more than quadruple it, if he is as good as reports suggest. But why think about that now?

Most of the best players in Derby's recent history have stayed no longer than 2 years...Wanchope, Asanovic, Baiano to a few.

But what really strikes me are his comments in his first interview, he's really been taken aback by the club and and is here to first and foremost play for Derby not play in the premiership. He seems like exactly the kind of character that would blend well with the rest of the boys. Comes across as a really genuine fella.

The only thing is that it will be tough on whoever has to give up the shirt to accommodate him.
