my point is if he has a great season next year and lets say that was in the premier league we'd probably end up losing him for a cut price pittance.

I just don't understand why we haven't got him on a longer contract if that was an option. doesn't make sense.

I'd rather have him on a 2 yr than not at all of course.

I dont want to **** on anyones fire here, as I think this is good business at £500k

    BUT...

None of us have seen this guy play yet, and certainly not in an english league game which will be very different to a La Liga game. Think we should hold off getting overly excited until we see how he performs once he gets into the team. For all we know at this stage, he might just be another Whitbread (without the persistent injuries). I think there are many who are excited cos he played for a team 8th in La Liga and made a team of the month. Thats all well and good, but I remember Claude Davis making teams of the month whilst at Preston, and look how he turned out.

I want this to be a real steal, like the rest, but I am not going to go overboard until I at least see him play 4 or 5 games and see his level of performance and consistency. First of all, he has to get into the team, and I am not sure he is going to walk straight into it

But great that we can attract players when faced with

It looks like a signing for the championship and maybe he can make the step up to the prem? IF we do go up, I'm sure a new contract will be negotiated, so good news all round.

Personally I view this signing as really exciting.

He has come from a small club with a 5000 seater stadium who are overachieving so I reckon he has chosen us partly because it isn't as dramatic of a step up than going to a big club in the Prem where expectations of him would be high and playing time low. From the YouTube videos of him I've seen he is a natural leader who gets stuck in and wins most times he tackles then plays it quickly and simple but comfortable on the ball. At 6ft5 he should be good in the air too. I just think that to have signed a regular player from 8th in La Liga is great and at 26 he should be at his prime and hit the ground running.

I couldn't care less about the length of his contract or the fee because if big clubs still want him in a couple of years it means we as a team are achieving (by that I mean doing well in the Prem) and he therefore shouldn't want to go. And as for the fee, I reckon we showed over a long period that we really wanted him and his

He looks like Rob Hindmarch RIP on my non-HD screen, if he's got a tenth of Rob's heart he'll do well but hopefully he has a tad more pace.
