Whitbread, never fit, gone at the nd of the season, Shotton more of a right back really. A bit of competition for Keogh might not be a bad thing and its not all about THIS season, a club has to have one eye on the future.

Obviously I get that we need to build for the future and have strength in depth but as things stand I wouldn't say that defense is the issue. Don't we have the third or fourth best defensive record in the league thus far?

Wouldn't recruiting more defenders undermine what by and large has been a solid enough season so far? I fear that we are in danger of trying to do too much too quickly.

If anything I would prefer that we put more pressure on the under performing Hendrick and Bryson. Mascarell seems to be the one taking a lot of the flack at the moment.
