If you stay on the bus to the bus station terminus it's about a 20 minute walk. If you want a beer there are a few decent pubs near the train station, waterfall, the vic, brunswick. Despite rumours to the contrary The Neptune is a good footy pub which runs a return bus to the game for £2, it leaves at 14.30. Neptune is about 10 minute walk from the bus station. (Before people post nonsense I have been going in the Nep for 5 years and never seen any bother, in our group are a retired gp, a childrens nurse, a district nurse etc... hardly loutish profiles!). Enjoy the game.

If you like real ale, a decent Cob full of ham and cheese, and a great pre-match discerning-football- atmosphere, then go to the Brunswick. Enjoy.

I think you're getting the wrong bus - Meadow Lane is nowhere near Derby.
