they could be in the relegation spot when they play derby in the cup so there minds could be on trying to keep out of relegation instead of the cup

tuesday 27 jan millwal v reading
saturday 31 jan reading v sheffield wensday
saturday 7 feb wolves v reading
tuesday 10 feb reading v leeds
these are not easy matchers for them and having to play dirty leeds 4 days before derby

I think it won't have any effect, as has been shown last weekend, cup games can change the attitude of players who can raise themselves for a one off agme - Reading aren't realistically going to get in the playoffs, so the cup may have meaning for them than us by the time we play them.
