    D_D's Player Ratings vs. Blackburn

A good win tonight against a team who came for a point. The ratings:

Grant 8- Made an excellent save at 1-0, which was huge. His kicking was poor at times, but he certainly did his goalkeeping duties.

Shotton 7- Rock solid at RB, something that can't be said about Cyrus as of late. He's still rusty going forward, but that will come with games. His throw-in led to our first goal, and his celebration where he flexed his muscles was a fun touch too. Great in the air too, which helped against tall Blackburn wingers/wide-forwards. Would have been an 8 if not for a terrible back-pass which led to Keogh making a heroic save.

Keogh 8- He was very good tonight: 2 crucial blocks, most headers won, and a willingness to carry the ball out when the game was flat. Much better than Saturday's performance, and it came against very good strikers in King and Gestede.

Buxton 7- His distribution was excellent, both long and and short. He dealt with Blackburn pressure well, but was not entirely convin

Thanks DD. Sat here in a blinding snow storm in Nova Scotia, your summation has warmed up my day.
I can't wait to get over in March and take in the Middlesbrough game.

Will was head & shoulders above everyone out there last night.

    Omar had another excellent game.

Bent certainly plays as the out and out forward that knows how to make runs that penetrate, and with Will we have someone who can make the pass. Watching Bent closely, he really does play off the last mans shoulder, a cliche, but so true

I thought D-D you was a bit generous in the ratings elsewhere. Lots of huff and puff, but very little penetration now we are missing pace on both wings. Actually thought Mason injected some against tiring opposition

For me, apart from Brucie, I thought the whole defence looked shakey, BUT...they delivered a clean sheet. Have to say we rode our luck tho to get it

Without JR on wing, I find it surprising we dropped Christie. Just shows what attacking threat he has when compared to Shotton. Shotts didnt have a terrible game, but for me, was avg at best

Jeff was once again very quiet. It must be a toss up between Jeff and Brys for that shirt. I dont

I think most of the ratings seem sound enough.

Not quite as resolute when we went to 'plan B' but you've got to be in the raffle to win a prize.

Did Keogh play better because the RB had better defensive positioning?

He seemed to get dragged out less to the touch-line with runners.

Shotton created the first goal which allowed us to win the match.

That long throw will be a very handy weapon in the next 19 games.
