Had a look through the new SPFL Official Sticker Collection book in W. H. Smiths today and very surprised that Derek has been omitted from the two pages featuring the Queens squad despite appearing in 22 of our games this season and currently joint top scorer at Palmy but Kevin Dzierzawski a bit part player has ?

Lyle has been great this season . I'm not surprised that some fans are having a go at him . As soon as we suffer a defeat it brings out the worse in some fans .

Must be some sort of mistake . That didn't actually happen , did it ??


And there's no way he's scored 12 of his 14 goals when starting a match & only 2 when coming on as a substitute

If the programme stats are correct then that's Derek Lyle on 71 goals so far for Queens

Yes 71 goals for the Tan Man in 179 starts and 61 coming off the bench (240)- heading for the top 10 all - time QOS scorers

Nice gesture by Derek in dedicating his hat - trick to former Cowdenbeath team - mate Dean Brett whose partner passed away last month after a battle with cancer.

Derek Lyle, is (and always has been) a very useful player at Championship level but just not quite good enough for the Premiership. He seems to have been around Scottish football forever and at age 34 (nearly) he has lost a bit of pace (did he ever have real pace?) but his experience compensates for this to some extent. With his goals contribution and his ability to hold the ball I am quite happy to see his on the team sheet.
