Game against Arsenal was called off this afternoon (3.30 pm) due to a frozen pitch. If we can overcome the Gunners when the match is eventually played, then a mouth watering away tie at Manchester City beckons.

Citeh beat Joke 1-0 but it could / should have been a cricket score. They play at the new purpose built 2nd ground next door to the Etihad.Originally Posted by PAULCAFC
However, I've heard that they intend to play the next round (is it the Qtrs) at the Etihad. Hopefully we'll take a good away support after brushing aside the goonners.

Pity that the Arsenal did not allow this game to be played at the Emirates Stadium with their undersoil heating, then the game would have gone ahead and it would have been a treat for players and fans alike. Not that they have not got the funds to make a loss on such a venture. Poor form from such a big club.![]()

I just remember those scenes at Darlington with 3000 turning out to watch them at the 25k all-seater George Reynolds White Elephant - looked ridiculous!
An U/18s game in a 75k capacity stadium? ... hmmm ...
I see the rearranged fixture at Boreham Wood is Thursday 19th Feb, 7pm ko. Good for me anyway, couldn't make the first one because of work, can definitely make this one!
Postponed again - this time a water logged pitch
My view is either play this at your own ground which wouldn't have problems with frozen or waterlogged pitches or if as it seems your not that bothered about the competition then let the team who are really interested in the competition stage it instead !!
Agree with that last comment, two failures to play on a non league ground is poor. Bring it up here and get the game on!
Crazy - not fair on the team - surely there could have been somewhere else??? Maybe Arsenal are scared![]()
I think they ought to forfeit the tie if they can get the match on. Again they have left it late to call it off.I know they are scared but they needn't make it that obvious.
Totally right !!! Mind you the pitch is not that good anyway , child of mine played on it once , also not helped by the fact that Arsenal ladies use it as their home pitch so no doubt overusedOriginally Posted by Crewe99
