A Positive Start but Let's not Build Castles in the Air.

So the curse of a new manager struck again but this time we were on the correct end of the score-line.

To go behind and reply almost immediately and by a player who's probably not started a League game all season. (I'll stand corrected on this, if it's wrong).

To score 3 goals away from home. To have some key changes in personnel and most of all a priceless away win.

What more can a fan ask? And to put on dear Es***'s thinking cap, a win today followed by 10 -12 more and a play-off place is almost there for the taking!

But let's not get carried away by the result. The cracks we saw in Pearce's final 7-8 matches, were again glaring. Had we not scored a 3rd, B&HA would have equalised. And only a last ditch lucky defending prevented them do the seemingly impossible - 2 late goals in the space of 5 mins or so.

And again we conceded first, usually a death knell for us, only this time the response was immediate. Had they gone in at 1-0, it might have been a very different but unfor

Play offs? Not even thinking on those lines. We need points to avoid the drop and sort ourselves out OFF FIELD, AGAIN!!!
This season is already a write off. Fawaz needs to clear the books first. I believe this is the real reason Freedman is here. He had the same at Bolton and nurtured their youth policy.

My theory of Forest is that you are really handicapped by your past glories. The belief that you are a huge club (not saying you're a small club, just one of about 30 big clubs including Derby, Leeds, Norwich, Wednesday etc) makes fans expect success at the highest level. This makes many of you impatient and that has not been helped by having two wealthy fans for owners. The fans' impatience has convinced both Doughty and Fawaz to make some unwise decisions in search of giving it 'one last push' to get you back where you feel you belong.

For what it's worth, I think that Freedman is a decent appointment, and sacking Pearce was one of Fawaz's better decisions as you'd have gone down. It would take a genius to get you promoted this season, and I don't reckon that Freedman is that, but he is a competent manager. I believe that you will now comfortably mid table.

So my question is this - if you do finish 10-14th, would you lot still want Freedman at the City Ground next season, or would

If Freedman steadies the ship and everything's hunky dory we should keep him on, there's been too much chopping and changing already.

Yep agree.. Off field is your big problem.
Was that not SP's job to nurture the youth and bring them through? Thats was were his success has been and he talks the talk on this subject. Never really did though at Forest which surprises me.
The question is why? Academy no good? I doubt that but you lot will know more than me. Pressure from above? Possibly but Freedman will then have the same issues.

I know I am a proud sheep but from the outside it keeps coming back to one thing.. FAWAZ.
He needs to let people who know what they are doing run the club and not try and be some sort of super hero saviour.. This is where we gain

The issue with Fawaz tho is that he doesnt want a Sam Rush type CEO to come in and steal accolades that he wants. Fawaz, Cellino etc are owners with massive egos. The way they go about things is cos they crave the limelight, and seek adoration of fans. By same token, they then become very reactive in face of adversity and fans backlash. I would guess that Fawaz is unlikely to change, and one day he may get it right with a decent manager

Good and ***** win on Saturday. Highlights and reports suggest you rode your luck, but 3 away pts first game up was a bonus

I note that SPs to new loanees didnt feature. More cash going down the drain. DF may need to bring in his own generals if he can work around the embargo. One thing for sure, he couldnt have picked a better set of games to start his tenure with. I bet SP is spitting he didnt get to play out this run of fixtures
